In my twenties, I spent hours and hours and hours alone in the candle-lit dark of my bedroom, worshipping. 

Falling in love with God was so easy for me.  Coming from a family where rejection was my norm, God wasn't just an idea: he was my life line.

Jesus became my best and only friend.  The one I ran to.  The one I sang to.  The one I let melt me when everyone else was inspiring walls. 

He was the one who showed me what being grateful was.   He never judged that I wasn't loving him enough; I could fall apart in my adoration of him and let him love me apart, too.

I spent hours laying on his lap, letting him love me.  When I couldn't seem to get it together, I ran to him and cried as he held me.  And 'leaving him' for what I'd discovered was the next path for me stayed my deepest heartbreak.

It wasn't until Talk to the Entities, an Advanced class in Paris, where I heard Shannon talk about the Beings of Light that I realized who I'd been communing with the whole time.

We are surrounded. Encompassed. Supported. 

And it only takes letting it all in to change everything.
